Please don’t go. We’ll eat you up. We love you so.

“But the wild things cried, ‘Oh please don’t go – We’ll eat you up – we love you so!'”

The world lost a talented, honest, and funny man today. Maurice Sendak has died. His books were what I believe to be the only truly relatable children’s books. All 10 lines from ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ still tug at my heart. “And Max, the king of all wild things, was lonely and wanted to be where someone loved him best of all.”

He was one of the only people that could speak so honestly and matter-of-factly about the way I see childhood, and life in general. I will miss him and his wonderful thoughts.

“And now,” cried Max, “let the wild rumpus start!”
